again. I did have a desktop that I connected the parallel programming
cable to and I enjoyed it very much, but I am away from home alot now
and have a laptop to work with. I am going to fill my extra time with
the oopic. My schooling got in the way as well, but now my schooling
is almost over and I want to enter the relm of electronics again. I
like this oopic group alot and you have helped out so very much.
Thanks for the prompt replies and the great information. I will
contact you as soon as I get it up and going. thanks.

I now have the same problem! I just bought a laptop that has ONLY
USB ports. Right out of the gate I wanted to interface a PS2 game
controller to RoboRealm and that involved using a USB VCOM driver to
talk to a chip that can deal with the SPI interface to the game
controller.
I used http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?
products_id=762 my new favorite interface gadget. With a little
wiring change (move the LEDs off of the PWM lines), this could be a
decent 'bot controller. It has a LOT of A/D inputs. With or without
the preprogrammed UBW software.
