To let you better understand my application i will summarize it:
I need to control 4 DC motor, that motors have analog feedback both
for speed (analog tachometer) and position (Precision potenziometers).
I can have two different ways to control it:
MANUAL - The control is done by two Joysticks connected to the motor
controller (and this part is done)
ROBOTIC - While in manual mode, the Microcontroller read the
position feedback of the motors and, on request, save the position
(example: position 1, position2,...). The user can recall one
position and the microcontroller control the motors to reach this
position from the actual one with a speed and a speed-ramp selected
by the user.
I choose the roboteq controller because it's the only one allowing
closed loop speed control with tachometer (all others uses quadrature
encoders). In this way i only have to write the PID for position
control, while the roboteq controller use the on-board pid to mantain
a constant speed.
The microcontroller should also have analog in to connect
potentiometers to select speed, speed ramp.
This is my application. Looking for a microcontroller i thinked the
OOpic was the best for my use (i also looked at cubloc products and
other ones). What Micro do you suggest? Any other suggestion to
optimize my application?
