Is anyone moderating the forum anymore?
Thanks,
Mike

No. The original group owner is no longer around, and Dennis Clark who
was made an administrator dropped off the list when Savage Innovations
fired him as their technical support guy.
He might still be lurking (which I hope he is), but he isn't
contributing as an OOPic user nor is he monitoring our group for rogue
spammers.

Seems like someone told me that if a Group's owner has left the group,
for a certain period of time, and the members of the group vote for a
new owner, Yahoo will make that person the new owner. I would
volunteer, but I already own/moderate all the groups I can handle.

Hi -
I first started playing with Oopic about eight years ago! Since then,
for various reasons, I have not done anything with them. However, I
now have a project that I think will be ideal. I have several Oopic
chips - Version A.2.0 - and was going to download the development
software from the site, but then I saw that we had version 4, version
5 and version 6!
I have had a good look round the site, but can't see anything that
says what versions of the development software are compatible with
what version of the firmware!
Could somebody help me out, please? Or did I see something about
being able to get upgraded firmware? Surely not for these old 16C74
chips?
Help!

Hi,
I use ooPIC-R to control 8 servos simultaneously. When the code is running, the power LED is blinking and all the servos are shaking. After several seconds, power LED becomes stable and the code is executed well. I am not sure if there is a problem in power supply. I use a 9v/800ma adaptor. Do I need to choose a stronger power supply ? One more question. Is it feasible if I utilize one ooPIC-R to control 16 servos simultaneously ?
Thank you very much ! Have a good night !

Servos really suck down the current! Never use the oopic power supply to power servos! Use a separate supply and one that can supply some healthy current! Just be sure to connect the grounds of the supplies together.
