This Forum is Dedicated For all The Object Oriented PIC Lovers .......... The concept behind OOPic is straight forward. Use preprogrammed multitasking Objects from a library of highly optimized Objects to do all the work of interacting with the hardware. Then write small scripts in Basic, C, or Java syntax styles to control the Objects. During operation, the Objects run continuously and simultaneously in the background while the scripts run in the foreground telling the objects what to do.

[oopic] Serial Program Cable for ooPIC-S

Pardon me for asking what I'm sure most would consider a really basic
question, I promise tried to find the answer but I can't seem to find a
definitive answer.

I have the OOPIC-S board. I want to program the OOPIC via serial port
on my laptop. For some reason I was thinking it would at least come
with a serial cable or some way to connect it to my PC but I was
mistaken (should've got the OOPIC-R).

Can I just cut open an old serial cable and wire it to the 5 Pin
header? Elsewhere I see people talking about buying/making an RS234
level convertor. If this is required for my board, where's a good place
to get one? Is it easy to make? If so has anyone seen a good
instruction post?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ben
