This Forum is Dedicated For all The Object Oriented PIC Lovers .......... The concept behind OOPic is straight forward. Use preprogrammed multitasking Objects from a library of highly optimized Objects to do all the work of interacting with the hardware. Then write small scripts in Basic, C, or Java syntax styles to control the Objects. During operation, the Objects run continuously and simultaneously in the background while the scripts run in the foreground telling the objects what to do.

[oopic] Re: Question about serial communication

Thanks everyone for responding. I really appreciate the insight (and
especially a sample working program to work from). I am trying to
control a robot using a php webpage and linux. I've worked out the
webpages, but was having problems with serial communications. I'd like
to send commands like fw,bk,lt,rt,st(=stop) for movement, logging
success or failure and monitoring some sensors. I knew I wanted to use
OSerialPort but I didn't realize the significance. I really appreciate
the answers you've given so far. I'll update (hopefully this
weekend!). Thanks again everyone.

Mike
