Sure, you can use a serial adapter like
http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/126

Connect RX to pin 37 of the
40 pin header, connect TX to pin 39. Connect VCC to a +5 pin and Gnd
to a Gnd pin and you are all set.

I use Jameco 736456 with heatshrink to make connections to the header.
I also cut up wirewrap sockets (like Jameco 196841) to get pins for
the +5 and GND pads. See www.jameco.com

Serial programming works better anyway. Just don't forget to put
OOPic.Delay = 5000 (use 500 for V5 of the compiler) as the first
executable statement.
