This Forum is Dedicated For all The Object Oriented PIC Lovers .......... The concept behind OOPic is straight forward. Use preprogrammed multitasking Objects from a library of highly optimized Objects to do all the work of interacting with the hardware. Then write small scripts in Basic, C, or Java syntax styles to control the Objects. During operation, the Objects run continuously and simultaneously in the background while the scripts run in the foreground telling the objects what to do.

Well, folks have convinced me that the Sabertooth is the way to go. I will
use a relay to toggle power to the motors when I need them to run. I drew up
a circuit that was entirely capable of convincing me that I draw like an
inebriated chimp. I could post it, but only to give folks a laugh. Still,
the circuit would use two relays, one would toggle power to the motors using
an IO line, the other would disable power control when there was current on
the charging circuit. I'll have to get back to that one of these days. I got
a bit sidetracked with some programming issues.

I was looking at the exponential mode for another reason, so it was good to
hear it recommended. A finer control around the zero point would be welcome
on several levels.

As for the serial, I'd have to look at that. It sure seems like a reasonable
way to go, but sending signals isn't really the issue. Getting the motors
running isn't really the issue, for that matter, that's working fine, just
getting them to stop is an issue, and the relays will be necessary for that.
