This Forum is Dedicated For all The Object Oriented PIC Lovers .......... The concept behind OOPic is straight forward. Use preprogrammed multitasking Objects from a library of highly optimized Objects to do all the work of interacting with the hardware. Then write small scripts in Basic, C, or Java syntax styles to control the Objects. During operation, the Objects run continuously and simultaneously in the background while the scripts run in the foreground telling the objects what to do.

Re: [oopic] New range finder needed

I'm using a CMUCam3 hooked up to an Oopic R. It has plenty
of on board processing power to handle things like blob / colour
tracking then can send just the coordinates to the Oopic through
the serial line.

Why? You don't need to keep or transfer the data. All you want are the
coordinates of where the line ends up on the imaging array.

Well, you could but you wouldn't be transmitting the image.

Well, you should be able to do it with something like a CMUcam. That's
not too hefty.
