This Forum is Dedicated For all The Object Oriented PIC Lovers .......... The concept behind OOPic is straight forward. Use preprogrammed multitasking Objects from a library of highly optimized Objects to do all the work of interacting with the hardware. Then write small scripts in Basic, C, or Java syntax styles to control the Objects. During operation, the Objects run continuously and simultaneously in the background while the scripts run in the foreground telling the objects what to do.

[oopic] Re: Vista

Hi all,

I have been trying to connect OOPIC to Vista for quite a while. Some
of my students are using notebooks with Vista pre-installed and they
are not able to connect to OOPIC.

After some extensive search in the web, I have managed to connect to
OOPIC. The installation procedure is the same as suggested in the
OOPIC website for Windows NT, 2000 and XP. The trick is to unregister
the OCX file. Don't ask me why and I guess this question should be
posted to microsoft.

Instead of running "regsvr32.exe comdlg32.ocx" to register the ocx,
type "regsvr32.exe comdlg32.ocx /U " in the run or DOS Command
prompt. Which actually is to unregister it. After that, I have no
problem in running the compiler in Vista. I hope this will help to
solve the Vista problem. Perhaps it should be included in the OOPIC
installation guide too.
