OOPIC Forum

This Forum is Dedicated For all The Object Oriented PIC Lovers .......... The concept behind OOPic is straight forward. Use preprogrammed multitasking Objects from a library of highly optimized Objects to do all the work of interacting with the hardware. Then write small scripts in Basic, C, or Java syntax styles to control the Objects. During operation, the Objects run continuously and simultaneously in the background while the scripts run in the foreground telling the objects what to do.

[oopic] OOPIC and Trekker magnetic compass

Hello everybody, i wanted to ask if anyone has a
completed project with communication of the oopic and
the trekker magnetic compass with the pc.

[oopic] Matrix Multimedia Programmer.

I like the idea of OOPIC but I also like the idea of being able to
plug stuff in via E-Blocks as supplied by Matrix Multimedia.

I don't suppose that if one took an OOPIC chip nad plugged it into a
Matrix Media PIC programmer it would work.

The book can be helpful but it is out of print. There are several
copies at www.alibris.com from $14.99 all the way up to $54.

Everything the OOPic can do has already been done. Look at the
example code that comes with the IDE. Look at the samples in the
on-line manual. Read the on-line programmers guide. Everything is
right there.

When you have specific problems, ask here. Search through the
archives here, as well. You aren't likely to come up with something
that hasn't already been discussed.

I spent a lot of time at Pulau Tioman, Pulau Dayang and several other
Malaysian dive spots when I worked in Singapore (1988-1989). I had a
great time!

Try amazon that is where I got mine. Though I have to say although
there is a lot of helpful information, it pertains to specific
circumstances. Outside the projects there isn't enough detail to
really make it a valuable book. It is more of a companion piece for
the online resources.
I think the key to understanding and being able to write code for the
oopic is thinking in terms of hardware. Figure out what your hardware
is supose to do, and then search the object list for objects that
control or operate that hardware. That is probably the first step.
